Hello Ladies and Gentlemen of UFNSBE family,

   We hope your summers' are going smoothly whether in Gainesville, at an internship, or just vacationing.

Here are a few updates to keep you involved this summer:

1.   Tabling at the Reitz

      Volunteers are needed to help table at the Reitz to spread the word about NSBE

      - Wednesdays and Fridays

      - Starts 6/30

      - 10:30 AM - until

2.   Summer Volunteering Approaching Dates

      Dates are approaching rapidly for the following two events. NSBE needs volunteers to represent the organization

      in every aspect to new faces.

   A)  College Reach-Out Program: July 22, 11:30-12:30 p.m.

         -   A group of K-12 students will be on campus, and we are hoping to have our engineering  work with them on hands-on activities to            introduce the students to engineering. Students helped with this last year so we have some activities that can be used, or we'd be open to             introducing new ones.

   B)   UF and COE Freshman Convocation ceremonies: August 20, 8:00-12:30 p.m.

         -  The UF Convocation will be held in the O'Dome, starting at 9:30 a.m.  The UF Dean of Students Office is in great need for                                 student  hosts to volunteer before, during, and after the event, mainly helping with crowd control and escorting the students after this                     ceremony to the college ceremonies.  We are changing our format this year to a fo rmal COE Convocation for the students (very much                like Commencement but shorter!).  Ours will be in the JWRU Grand Ballroom and will start directly after the UF ceremony. A good bit             of help is needed from students in crowd control, managing the departmental banners, etc.  It will be sort of like a                                                mini-Commencement!!  This should be fun with hopefully all of our incoming freshman (~1500 admitted this year!).

3.   Ratheon's Cybermarket Job Opportunity

         Cybersecurity is one of the most dynamic capability areas in Ratheon and also a key growth market for the company.They need the                   expertise of talented cyberengineers and information technology professionals as there are more than 200 job positions open in                           cybertechnology. Attached is more information on the elegiblity criteria and selected majors.
