Hello fellow NSBE family!
It's that time again for updates that we are sure you would like to be involved in:
1. College Outreach Program Volunteering: Thursday, July 22 12:15 pm
2. Manage a NSBE project : GRU HS Senior Scholarship Fund
3. Leadership 101: Art of Reputation Wednesday, July 21 6:30-830 pm
1. College Outreach Program Volunteering
This Thursday 7/22 the gator outreach event is going to be held in the Graham Gallery at 1 PM and I think it will probably take an hour or so. Please notice that the time has CHANGED and the event is no longer at 11:30! Students K-12 will be coming viewing the booths of different organizations across a room. NSBE's demonstration will be "Got Money to Burn". We need volunteers to help set up the model and facilitate the kids. Please meet at the NSBE office (first floor Weil) at 12:15 pm to help. Email secretary@ufnsbe.org for more details.
2. Manage a NSBE project : GRU HS Senior Scholarship Fund
GRU is funding a scholarship for graduating seniors and would like a NSBE representative to help head it. If you are interested in a task like the such and want to expand your leadership skills/experience email Robert Williams at president@ufnsbe.org. Below is information regarding the position"GRU has created a scholarship fund for future Engineers planning to attend the University of Florida and will host its first scholarship banquet in 2011 for graduating seniors who receive this award. We have created an outreach component to inform students about this opportunity and would like your help in developing it. I am sure you are involved in many other outreach programs and would appreciate it if your organization considers this opportunity. Our Community Relations team would like to schedule a meeting with you or a represe
ntative from your organization to discuss the outreach program further. Please let me know days or times that are convenient for you. Thank you so much for all your help!"
3. Leadership 101: Art of Reputation
On Wednesday July 21, 2010 at Pugh Hall from 6:30-8:30pm, there will be a program called “Leadership 101: Art of Reputation” with sponsors Iota Phi Theta Fraternity Inc. and Oasis, which is essentially a forum to inform and educate the UF community of how to correctly represent themselves and to gain advice from present and future leaders. The overall goal of the event is to give the incoming students and upcoming leaders the opportunity to learn from the experiences and interact with exce ptional leaders on campus in the hopes that such impact will allow these students to more aware of their actions.
