Greetings NSBE Family,
The University of Florida Chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers would like to extend a warm welcome and invite you to join us as we continue to set a standard of excellence by empowering our members to reach their full potential.
My name is Jelece Morris and I am the UFNSBE President for the 2009-2010 school year. On behalf of the Chapter Executive Board, I invite you to join us this year as we strive to live the NSBE mission: to increase the number of culturally responsible Black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact the community. For the past 10 years, UFNSBE has continued to live out this mission and has been awarded on multiple occasions for our outstanding achievements. This year will be no different.
We would greatly appreciate your continued support to lay the foundation for the many innovative and interactive programs we have planned for the upcoming year.
You do not have to be black or an engineer to join NSBE; you just have to be someone who believes in helping us fulfill the mission. If you have not done so already, I highly encourage you to register on www.nsbe.org to become a member of this illustrious organization. The benefits are many, the opportunities are far more and the experience is ever lasting.
The vision of UFNSBE for the 2009 - 2010 school year is to create and/or develop leaders by providing them with opportunities in which they can enhance their leadership skills and utilize them in school, work and the community.
This year I strive to make this vision a reality by encouraging our membership to continue the legacy of maintaining leadership roles in NSBE, our communities and other professional organizations; a legacy set by our NSBE founders.
Please join us at our General Body Meetings to find out more about the programs we have scheduled for the year. I look forward to meeting each and every one of you and personally welcoming you into the UFNSBE family.
NSBE Love,
Jelece E. Morris
UFNSBE President (2009-2010)
